3D Chocolate Maker!

Ok, so this worked out significantly better than expected. Sure, this was the longest WTF that we ever filmed (as far as I can remember), but we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

We’ve just got a few things we’re confused about. HOW IS THIS SUPPOSED TO BE FOR KIDS!? This was pretty complicated. It didn’t come with pre-melted chocolate, and melting it in a double boiler is very much an adult thing to do. Making sure that water doesn’t get into the chocolate mix is tough if you don’t have an adult’s manual dexterity. And the patience required is astronomical! Martina worked at melting that chocolate for over 15 minutes. You think a kid is gonna do the same? And you can’t just melt chocolate in a microwave (Idunno: can you?) It takes a lot of effort! But we went through it all…and it was worth it! These chocolates were great!

More importantly, we finally got to use a song that we really liked but had no place for. The song for the Popo is just so chipper and fun, but it didn’t really fit any of our videos. When we finally got to use it for this one we both stood up and danced to it. If you can get anything from this video, I hope it’s a love for the song that ends the video. IT’S SO FUN AND WHIMSICAL! It sounds like great adventures are happening between cute animals. AAWWW! I love it. We have a bunch of songs we love that we can’t seem to fit into our videos. I’m glad we finally got this one off the list.

On a similarly related note, we wanted to announce the winners of our Japanese Candy package giveaway contest that we announced last week. We didn’t shoot a FAPFAP this week (because Martina was sick) so we couldn’t announce it then, but we’re announcing it now. Woohoo! An the winners are:

wyliem on Eatyourkimchi

We’ll send you messages on how you can claim your prizes. Woohoo! Just in time for Halloween!

Otherwise, if you want to make some 3D chocolate on your own, you can pick this thing up on Gmarket and get to playing with your very own chocolate Popo right away!

  1. LOVED this! You were both just darling as usual and I really REALLY want one of those (I especially loved the penguin!)! I could say I want one so I can express my creativity but i wouldn’t be fooling anyone… just a fun excuse to eat more CHOCOLATE!

  3. I laughed so much at popo, I saw him and thought ” Oh like Mr.Popo from Dragon Ball Z!” but Martina goes DA POLICE! much laughter ensued. The Spudgy loaf in the back of the vid was also much appreciated :)

  5. The song is “Seasons” by Future Islands. I’ve been a big fan of theirs for so long that they actually mentioned me in the lining for their second album, In Evening Air. I even stayed at their house back in 2012. They have the fattest cat.

    • OMG FAT CAT!!! Pics or it didn’t happen. Of the cat. I want to see the cat. But that’s awesome that you’re so close with them! We only discovered them in the past year or so but they’re addictive.

  10. Well you can melt chocolate in a microwave (I did it for matcha chocolate) but you have to be careful not to microwave for too long or else the chocolate will get clumpy :D

    • Yeah, so I’ve heard. It’s risky doing it in the microwave. It’s safer, but more time consuming, doing it the double boiler way :D

      • Usually, I melt chocolate in the microwave: I put it in a bowl with a little bit of butter and milk and after heating I mix it all together ;) It tastes delicious! :D
        Btw, it’s a lovely chocolate maker ^.^
        Love you guys!
