So, we saw that this was making the rounds of social media last week, and we saw the signs all over Japan for Starbucks’ new American Cherry Pie Frappuccino. Not all over Japan, per se, but we saw them in every Starbucks, and in our area I think there are five locations all within five minutes of walking. No joke. Buy a drink at one and drink it while you walk to the next, and you won’t finish your drink. It’s nuts.
Anyhow, Starbucks comes up with tons of different specials every month, and they’re always super interesting. We barely ever try them. We mostly just go to a Starbucks and get plain coffee. But we’ll look at the pictures and say AHH PRETTY and then never order it. Except for today!
For real though, it’s impressive how excited people get about new specials at Starbucks, McDonalds, Baskin Robbins, etc. I don’t really care much for specials in Starbucks back in Canada, except for Christmas where they don’t sell Cranberry Bliss Bars anymore AND DON’T YOU SAY THEY DO because last time we were there for Christmas we’d ask every location and they’d be sold out. I CALL SHENANIGANS!
I’ve typed in so many caps locks in this blog post, many hours after I drank that that super sugary Frappuccino. The sugars haven’t worn off.
Altogether, I wouldn’t necessarily get this drink again. If I’m going to Starbucks, I need caffeine. This is just a treat, and if I want to have a treat, I can find better treats elsewhere, like Cremia, for example. This was fun to try and to see, but otherwise I’ll never have one again. Let me know if you’ve tried one here in Japan (for the three of you in Japan watching our videos, hi!). Otherwise, here are some extra scenes from this video. We’re almost done another video, in fact. I’m hoping it’ll be up this weekend before we go off to Kyoto to film at some really pretty restaurants. Yay!
