Eatyourkimchi Will Be on Star King

This past Friday July the 1st was Canada Day – Yeaaaaa Canadaaaa!! Happy Canada Day everyone! – but we didn’t spend it enjoying a BBQ or hanging out with fellow Canadians. Instead we worked our butts off at a dance studio in Gangnam, Seoul training for our upcoming guest appearance on Star King. Yes, that Star King. They’re having us on as guests, and we are going to dance our sexy, sexy dances.

To better prepare us for our appearance, Star King has let us use the dance studio they often use. Apparently Star King has a deal with Def Dance studio to help prepare fellow guests polish their dance routines. We were really excited because this wasn’t just any dance studio, it was a studio commonly used to train many k-pop idols from various labels and we saw pictures on the walls and autographs to prove it.

Although we were initially hoping to sneak a peak of idols dancing, we are now happy that didn’t occur. It would have been really embarrassing to have anyone, let alone a kpop idol, even glance at us dancing. We suck. Our dance instructor – who was totally awesome and has the patience of a saint – can take the simplest dance move and make it look amazing, while we just flail our arms and groins around in a very disturbing manner.

Seriously, dancing is a full time job. Luckily for Martina she used to go to a Korean dance school for fun, so she was a bit more prepared for the upcoming torture. Simon, however, was a big sweaty manmanmanmanman. Oh…the horror! We danced for four hours, and this Sunday we have another session coming up. And this is all just for a funny, tiny, silly little three minute dance. Just to rub salt in our wounds, we met three super nice girls (who made a guest appearance in our video) who are also dancing on the showâ€¦except they are slightly different from us in that they can actually dance. Totally amazing! Their routine is something to look forward to, seriously.

Anyways, we’re not sure when the actually Star King episode will air, but we’ll be sure to let you all know once they tell us the date. Monday we record the episode for most of the day, so Kpop Music Monday might be a little bit late this week. Anyhow, once it’s out, you can all watch us dance terribly on national television in front of Super Junior, f(x), Secret, Infinite, and Girls Day. Super duper! And, no, we’re not ashamed to do so. We make fools of ourselves on a regular basis in our YouTube videos…why should a massively popular TV show be any different? Right? Right? A little encouragement here would be nice…
