We didn’t want to leave for Singapore for a week and leave a stack of unopened packages, especially because we’d be missing out on a package opening LiveChat while we’re in Singapore! So, this is our second LiveChat of the week, and we’re done! Woohoo yeah! Now, time to start packing. Seriously, Martina hasn’t finished packing yet. Hasn’t even started. Uggh.

For starters, let’s say thank you to:

Tiffany from New Jersey
Anne and Cindy from Sydney, Australia
Steph and Lachlan from Victoria, Australia
Eleanor from Shropshire, England
Leah from Calgary, Alberta, Canada

Thanks, guise, for taking the time and spending the money to send us stuff! There’s a lot we’re missing out on here in Korea in terms of food and snacks, and getting all of this stuff is great! Though, we’re on diets and trying to be healthy, we still really appreciate the love that goes into these boxes. Thank you :D

Side note, thanks to Samantha from Singapore, visiting Korea, while we’re on our way to Singapore! Those awesome pixel glasses I was wearing for this LiveChat, she left them on the stairs to our studio, at the gate. Lovely! We found them when we were on our way back to the studio (well, Martina found them when she was on her way). Yay!

Another side note: we mentioned in the LiveChat how we can’t do TimTam slams. Drinking a coffee right now, and tried it again. STILL BIG FAIL! Is there a secret to this or something? I bite off a corner and it just falls apart altogether? WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?!?!

Nevermind! I just tried it again. HOLY SMOKES THAT WAS AWESOME! It finally worked! First time, in, like, 10 attempts. WAHOO!

Yes, this isn’t our regular style of movie. It has nothing to do with Korea. I just wanted to talk about Iron Man 3, because – even though people are really seeming to love it – I had a lot of difficulty enjoying the video as much as I wanted to enjoy it, and so, for an Open the Happy video, I wanted to talk about why.

Spoilers ahead, obviously:

I don’t want to give across the impression that this is a bad movie. It was enjoyable. I liked it, but I found myself let down a bit. It would have been a great movie if it wasn’t called Iron Man, if it was a standalone movie, but – I think – because of the context of Iron Man, the movie was disappointing. I liked it as a Tony Stark movie, but not as an Iron Man movie, you know?

Look at Iron Man 1. Remember how satisfying that scene was when he puts on the first proper iteration of the suit, and he busts in on the badguise and shoots them all? That was like a “FCK YEAH! MURICA!” moment. It was asskicking awesomeness. Don’t talk to me about Iron Man 2 I didn’t like it. BUT: in Avengers, when he’s flying around New York, and fighting off tons of badguise, that, too, was immensely satisfying as a viewer. Here, we didn’t really get that satisfaction. We saw Tony struggle with his PTSD and talk to a kid most of the time, and then he Macgyver’ed his way into the Mandarin’s headquarters. Meh. Not the same. Just not the same. We got small glimpses of that kind of ass-kicking satisfaction when the Iron Man suits were tag-teaming on the roided out soldiers, but that last scene was so complicated for me that I couldn’t enjoy it as much as I wanted to.

Now, I’ve read thousands of Marvel comics over the last couple of years. Seriously, the two of us are hardcore comic nerds. Martina mostly focuses on Wolverine and X-Men comics, but I’ve been going through just about everything since the House of M series. I’ve gone through a bunch of Avengers and Iron Man comics, as well as the whole Civil War and Dark Reign series, so I’m rather comfortable with Tony Stark and Iron Man. I was actually quite pleased with how the movie played with the source material. When I saw pictures of Iron Patriot, I was excited, because Norman Osborne is a badass, but he wasn’t part of it. I wasn’t disappointed when he wasn’t included, though. I chuckled a bit. The best part, though, hands down, was the reveal that the Mandarin, played by Ben Kingsley, wasn’t the exceptionally scary badass that he is in the comics. He was just an actor. Did not see that coming AT ALL. Ben Kingsley looked like him, even with the rings and all. Even when he said he was just acting I was like “Nahh, this is part of Mandarin’s grand scheme! Shit’s about to go down now!” but it didn’t. Really quite hilarious, in fact.

More importantly, I was really happy with how they handled Tony Stark’s PTSD. Not from a scientific perspective, because I’m not sure how accurate that representation was, but simple because there was source material available for them to use that they avoided: Tony Stark is a recovering alcoholic in the comics, and that could definitely have been used instead of PTSD, but it wasn’t. I was happy with that decision, because I think it would be too difficult to tie in. It just turned out that Tony Stark’s nemesis, Mandarin, is the one who was the alcoholic. Brilliant!

Lastly, the inclusion of Extremis kinda confused me. Is there another iteration of Extremis in earlier comics? I’m used to Extremis being Tony Stark’s nanotech armor. He’s got a bunch of nanobots in him that form the Iron Man armor (totally effing awesome, by the way), so to hear Extremis and Iron Man together, that’s what I assumed would happen. Instead, it was the bizarro formula. Maybe in Iron Man 4, Tony Stark will have re-calibrated the formula with his nanobots to make the armor? I’m not sure, but it would make sense.

Anyhow, that’s it. Let me know your thoughts on it. I hope I didn’t come across as angry, though I do passionately talk about movies when they don’t make sense. I don’t want this video to seem like Iron Man 3 isn’t worth watching, because it is. I just found so many things wrong with it. That’s just how I watch movies: analyzing plot details and especially plot pushing. Don’t even get me started on the disaster of the Spiderman movie. Hey: how the hell does a giant gortdamned lizard bring millions of dollars of science lab equipment into the sewers? Did he just smuggle that in his jacket and take the elevator? And, what: he plugged it in to the outlets with free electricity available in the sewers? And Spiderman’s phone gets reception in the sewers? Phones in North America struggle to get signal ABOVE ground, let alone below it. Garbage!

So, we just talked about the name of the song, which we don’t like, but we didn’t talk about how much we like this song. IT’S SO MUCH BETTER THAN THEIR FIRST SONG WITH AN ALSO AWKWARD NAME. This song is really, really catchy, and Martina’s been singing it all day. There’s a lot to say about the video as well, which will – surely – result in Fangurilla taking over majority of the show so she can scream. Still, this song isn’t as overwhelming and bombastic and explosive a return as we’ve been anticipating from 2PM, but it’s still a damned good song. Just something totally different from what we thought we’d hear from them. We’re still happy, though! What are your thoughts? Pick one: ADTOY or CBWYHTS.

LC9 “MaMa Beat” – Vote for it Here!

Ok, so, yes, this is strikingly similar to B.A.P.’s “Warrior.” We were even told that this was supposedly the same set? We don’t know. Can’t confirm it, but we wouldn’t be surprised if that’s the case. Where is this set, anyway? We need to start WANKing at Kpop Music Video sets. Anyhow, the B.A.P-ness of this video aside, how funky awesome is this song, eh? EH? I’m Canadian! Answer me when I say Eh! Speaking of being Canadian – particularly, a Torontonian – supposedly Toronto’s mayor smokes crack. How many of you can say you have a crackhead for a mayor? Didn’t think so.

Yes, that was unrelated. I’ve drank a lot of coffee between the paragraph on 2PM and this paragraph, and I’m feeling hyper. Both of those songs are great. I’m not really even sure which one I like more. 2PM’s song is really good, but I’m biased to funkiness. And this sounds like Video Game funkiness as well. It’s very 8 bit. I dunno. What I can say, though, is that this is one of the coolest debut songs I’ve heard in a long time, apart from Warrior. I would say the same about EXO, but I don’t know what their debut song actually was, because there are so many names for different songs and what the crap I don’t know. What is Love is the greatest song of all time is all you need to know, Debut or not. This song, though not the G.O.A.T., is still really cool :D

9Muses “Wild” – Vote for it Here!

Hey. Who noticed that awesome jersey in this video? You know what I’m talking about. If you don’t, check the video and come back to me. Ha! That jersey’s awesome. Problem is, boys can’t wear something like that. It’s creepy when guys are called perverts, but for a girl to have a pervert sign on doesn’t seem as icky, no? Just me? A guy can see a girl with a pervert shirt on and be like “pooh that’s kinky!” but switch it around and girls might be like “ewww gross.” Ladies? Am I right. Wait: I’m gonna ask Martina. She’s sitting across the table from me now. Wait a sec.

…

Just confirmed it. Yep: she says it’s creepy, like the guy would try to look up her shirt or something. Hmm. Interesting.

Anyhow, this video’s super sexy and I’d love to re-enact the scenes for you and destroy any arousal you might feel for the next 6 months. I DON’T THINK YOU READY FOR THIS JELLY MY BODY’S TOO BOOTYLICIOUS FOR YOU BABE. Question: why didn’t my computer autocorrect or even underline Bootylicious for me? Is that really a word now?

Yes, we know, so you might have already seen something like this…but…but…this is special!

Confession: we go to this place far too often. It’s close to our studio, and it’s freaking delicious. Every time we have dinner after a business meeting we take them here. It’s so good! So, we figured, why not share this awesome place with you guise? Yes, you’ve seen us grill meat before, but this place is really different.

Well, not really THAT different. It’s just the aesthetic and idea that’s cool. It’s supposed to recreate a camping experience. You don’t drink soju out of glass shot glasses, but out of plastic cups. You use wooden chopsticks. You sit in tiny foldable chairs, and when it’s cold outside, you stay close to the fire and wrap yourself in blankets. And you use real charcoal under a grill. Booya! And there’s something about the meat here that we love. The samgyeopsal has a different layer of fat up top. It get’s a lot crispier than other places. Not sure why. Is it, like, pig skin that’s crisping up? Who knows, but that extra bit of crunchiness with every bite is just BOOYAKA!

We also never really had a grilling experience in which we had to care for the meat so thoroughly. Once the flames start licking, you gotta move your meat away quickly, or else it’ll burn. We rarely see fire go up so high in grilling places. We like it! Makes it feel more, cavemanly, you know? Also, there’ve been some times in which we went with a big group of people and ordered a lot of meat. They owners were nice enough to cook the meat on another grill while we were cooking our own, so that, when we were done, they gave us already prepared meat. SO NICE OF THEM! Maybe because we’re there all the time and they see us burning our meat because we suck and they took pity on us.

We took a friend here once who served in the Korean army, and he was totally waxing nostalgic here. The metal trays, supposedly, are standard in the Korean army, and how soldiers often eat their lunches (or ate lunches, back in his time). Another thing about Outdoor Factory: it blares a lot of old Kpop. Sometimes it has a new song in there or two, like Jay Park’s “Joah”, which you see Martina singing in the Bloopers. They also smuggle in some Sistar from time to time, but it’s mostly old stuff that we don’t know the words to, but our older Korean friends happen to know (if you’re reading this, older Korean friends of ours, we don’t mean OLD old. Just old-er, you know? As in, older than what’s out there in Kpop recently!)

Anyhow, we’d like to give you directions to this place, but it’s really so complicated. I’ve got no idea how to express it. It’s on the side street of a side street off Parking Lot Street in Hongdae, closer to the Sangsu end of Parking Lot Street. How do we describe it otherwise? Damn. We need to make an app with a map of the places we’ve been! We asked the place if they had a website, but they didn’t, so we don’t even know how to link them. Ah well. It’s one of those special secrets…though it’s not really a secret, because a pretty famous Korean food show went there, Tasty Road. We didn’t see that episode, though, but we heard about it.

Extra side note: we have a GoPro camera, and we’re surprised we haven’t been using it more often. We really had fun with those chopstick shots. We think they’re cool looking, and having a second camera switches things up from time to time. We’re really happy with how this video turned out, and we hope you like it, too!

Another cool thing here: you might have noticed that we used different music here. Story behind it all: The band is called 후후 (aka WHOwho). Ryan, who you saw in our Board Game Wank, introduced us to them a while ago. We really liked their music. We kept on waiting for a YouTube video of theirs to go up, so we could talk about it for our Korean Indie segment on Sundays, but they still don’t have one up. But we really wanted to share their music! So, we contacted their label, and asked if we could use their music in our video. BOOYA! They agreed. And so, since we can’t show the music in our Indie segment, we can at least share it here in our FAPFAP. We hope you dig it as much as we do, and hopefully you could check them out live here in Hongdae one of these days :D Or, you can check them out on Twitter, Facebook, Cyworld, and check out a live video of them here, from which – come to think of it, I think we were there at this show.

And, lastly, we’ve got some extra scenes in the bloopers, namely, Martina singing along to Jay Park, and me talking about meat. MEAT!

What’s this? A LiveChat on Thursday? Since when do we do that? We usually save these LiveChats for the weekends! What gives?

Well, we’re trying to get as much done before our Singapore trip on Monday. We’ve been doing some projects on the side, which is why you Martina so did up in this LiveChat. We’ll tell you more about it in Singapore! Apart from those projects, though, we also wanted to open up all of these awesome packages you sent us, because we’re starting to fall behind and the pile is getting too big to handle in one sitting. So, we’re going to be doing another LiveChat this week, probably on Saturday or Sunday. Woohoo!

For the packages we opened this week, though, we’d like to thank:

Emilie from Wisconsin
Alison from Maryland
Antonio from MA (is that Massachusetts?) I don’t know.
Megan from Wisconsin

Huzzah!

Also, we want to thank you all for hanging out with us during our LiveChats. We think that these LiveChats are lame, and don’t know why anyone would want to watch them, but we’re constantly amazed at how many of you do hang out with us, so we want to give back, in some small way. We’d like to do small, random giveaways of stuff. Sometimes we’ll give away cool things we find in convenience stores, sometimes we’ll give away CDs. We’re not sure yet. We’re not even sure HOW we should give these away during LiveChats. We just wanna, you know, thank you guise, for hanging out with us. You give us energy for the rest of the day. We filmed on set today for over 4 hours, and once we’re done this LiveChat, we’ve got more filming of our own to do. We would normally be drained, but talking with you is gonna get us super pumped and ready to handle the rest of the night. So, thank you!

This is probably one of the most practical TL;DRs we’ve answered in a while. Back in the day before the world of these TL;DR videos, we used to have a huge FAQ section on our website that we updated regularly and religiously with tons of helpful info, but we soon discovered that taking the time to update the FAQ page was…a total waste of our time. We still received tons of emails asking us questions for just about everything we had taken the time to write about. Even when we replied to someone’s email with a link to that page, some people still emailed us back asking for a direct response! Grumblecakes!

And so, that was how our TL;DR videos started: to answer commonly asked questions in video format since it seems most people are unwilling to read the answers. Reading’s dead! People want videos instead! But not you guise, since you’re clearly reading this blog post right now. Or maybe you’re not? Maybe we should make a TLDR video about why we made TL;DR videos?

Okay! On to the extra tips and tricks for flying to Korea! If you already watched the video we mentioned briefly about packing and travel on the plane but we didn’t get the chance to talk about what it’s like to arrive at Incheon Airpot.

Just Arriving

First off, if you need to make a phone call, do it at the pay phones while you still can. There aren’t a lot of pay phones in Korea, so you might not get the chance to tell your family that you arrived safely.

Secondly, grab a snack at the local convenience store in the airport. For less than a $2.00 you can get a lovely rice triangle and bottle of water or head to the Paris Croissant for a pretty decent sandwich or some baked good that you can pop in your bag. Trust me, it’s going to take you at least 30 minutes to get to wherever you’re going from here on our.

The Subway

If you’re taking the subway from the airport, you can buy a T-Money card (“tee-cah-duh”) in either plain old regular card format, or as a slightly more expensive cute dangling thingy that hooks onto your cell phone at the local GS25 convenience store inside the airport. You buy the card (just once), then put money on the card and just “beep” it to get on the subway, bus, or even taxi. The advantage of these are that they save you money with every trip and they are rechargeable at convenience store and at the subway themselves but NOT on the buses or in taxis. Plus, you don’t have to know where you are going, you beep to get on the subway, and beep to get off the subway and the machine does all the math for you. If you don’t want to buy a t-money card, head to the subway located under the airport (there are tons of signs) and you’ll have to buy a ticket BUT you’ll have to know the name of the subway stop you are going to in order to buy a ticket. See why t-money card are great? ROBOT TAKE MY MONEY BEEP! We did a video about Korean subways a while ago… a LONG TIME AGO

The subway in Korea is awesome but if you have lots of luggage it will be awful. The airport subway line is pretty empty and spacious but as you transfer lines onto the more populated lines, you’ll have a hard time getting through the crowds and finding an elevator to take you between levels, so I really recommend the bus or a taxi if you have lots of luggage.

The Bus

When you exit the airport, the first ring of roads are for the buses while the second ring is for taxis. There are tons of buses that take you in many directions so I recommend you check out this site to help you with where you are going and how long it will take.

If you bought a t-money card, you can just beep onto the bus and depending on if it’s a fancy bus (the driver will come down to help you load your luggage under the bus) or if it’s a normal bus (driver stares at you struggling to get your luggage up the stair and onto the bus) it will cost between $2.50 – $15.00. We normally take the bus when we are traveling light and don’t have any animals. Here’s another video we did about using T-Money cards

Taxis

Once you leave the airport, the taxis are divide according to where they will travel (for example, some go to Seoul, some don’t). There are also English speaking helpers waiting by the taxi stand and help people communicate with the taxi driver. We didn’t have those when we arrived five years ago!

There are three kinds of taxis available. The standard taxis, starting at roughly $2.40, the luxury taxis (it’s just a black taxi with leather seats…oooohhh) starting at $4.50, and the “jumbo” van taxis also at $4.50. If you have two people and four pieces of luggage plus carry-ons, you’ll have to take the jumbo taxi to fit in everything. Advice for using taxis: if you pass by a toll both, which you probably have to, you’ll have to pay an extra $7.00 or so that will be tacked on at the end of your journey so don’t be surprised.

Buuuuut, if you travel between midnight and 4:00am the normal taxi’s meter will start at a higher price (that’s normal anywhere in Korea) HOWEVER if they try to suggest a flat cash rate or refuse to use the meter they are trying to rip you off, so get a different taxi. To give you an idea, going to Seoul in a normal taxi has cost us around $70.00 during crappy slow traffic in the early evening, and around $50.00 for quick moving traffic. Honestly, if you’re really exhausted from both jet lag and a bagillion hours on the plane, then falling asleep in the taxi is the way to go. You don’t have to worry about missing your stop and you can always save money on the way back to the airport by taking the subway and bus once you’re fully awake.

Ok! So those are your options! Let us know if you have any other travel tips. Wow. This blog post feels like a government page or something. Too much information!

Oh, and lastly, if your noodles come undercooked while you’re on the flight, feel free to abuse the flight attendants. HA JOKING! We’re not CEOs

JEEZ THIS NAME IS TOO LONG FOR THE TITLE BAR ABOVE. Look how it doesn’t fit! I’m not a fan of long song names, but that’s just about my only real complaint, and it’s not really a complaint either. If you haven’t seen 2PM’s awkwardly longly titled “Come Back When You Hear This Song” check it out here!

Yeah! It’s an ok song. It’s not amazing. It’s just politely tame and pleasant. Not jarring. Not bizarre. Pretty sounding, but not a blow-you-away kind of song, you know? It’s not something we’ll be dancing to in the mornings when we’re getting ready for the day, like we do with other Kpop songs. It’s just…nice!

We brainstormed over what we could have our 30 second showdown disagreement over, but we agree with each other about this song through and through. 2PM are dressed really well. They look like men; forget a boyish image. They’re great dancers, but the broadway-musical aspect of the dance sometimes makes us uncomfortable, but it’s not terrible. And the Seven Deadly Sins weren’t really like the Seven Deadly Sins at all. They were really vaguely related. I’m sure some people might be like “oh it does make sense! Having sex with someone is lust!” No it isn’t. Being overly horny is lustful. When we saw that scene, it really just looked like two people lovingly looking at each other and about to get it on. And ripping off a necklace is pride? I don’t get it.

OH WAIT! We did have one complaint we didn’t talk about in this video – HOLY FRACK WAS THAT ENDING EVER CHEESY. Walking away from fireworks in slow motion? How in the bubbletoads is that relevant? How is that not excessively 80′s cheesy? The rest of the video was cool and interesting, and we were digging it, but we legitimately bust out laughing at slow motion walking away from stuff. It’s just lazy! Did JYPE not see this video?

Yeah man. That was lame.

Otherwise, since we’re so happy to finally see 2PM back in Korea, we want to give away one of their new CDs. Woot! We would have it with us today but it’s sold out, but it’s coming in tomorrow. HUZZAH! Want to win one? Let us know in the comments how many JYP Diamond Tears headphones were in our video. OOH THAT MEANS YOU GOTTA WATCH THE VIDEO AGAIN! Good luck finding them. A lot of them are really hard to catch :D

OH! And you gotta be subscribed to win. Leave your YouTube username along with your answer, so we can be sure you’re subbed :D

And, lastly, we’ve got some cheesy bloopers, as always. The dance scene didn’t go as planned at first…

I hope we were clear in our KpopCharts update. We’re happy that 2PM’s back! We’d like to see them do more stuff in Korea than in Japan, not because being in Japan is bad, but because we’re biased, and we don’t review Jpop songs (yet?). One of these days we might start up that eatyoursushi website we bought ages ago. Who knows. Then we’ll be able to talk about 2PM all the time, because they’re doing stuff there all the time. OH 2PM! WHY HAVE YOU FORSAKEN US! Well, I know why. There’s more money to make in Japan than in Korea, because people don’t buy music in Korea but they do in Japan. NEVERTHELESS! Music’s about more than just money, right? Right guise? Come back to the motherland! Stay here and make more music and dances! Hell: even stop by the Nasty Studio! We’ll have fun interviews and stuff! It’ll be the best ever!

WHO’S WITH ME?!?!!?!?!

B1A4 “What’s Happening” – Vote for it Here!

Alert! Alert! Incoming important bulletin from your Galactic Overlords, Bilasa! I will read the bulletin, and you will observe and obey:

“Greetings, peasants! This is Bilasa. We are coming back from another Galactic conquest, in which we ate an entire galaxy. They have their own sense of democracy as well, and they voted for something other than us. So we ated them up. We are now in the process of digesting them. Soon, we will fart them out, and their farticles will become the building blocks of new nebulae and galaxies that will form another civilization. Note: this fate will await you as well, if you do not vote for us. If you do not, then look to your loved ones and say your final farewells. We will use you as toothpicks. Bilasa out!”

Damn. Bilasa is so testy lately…

Lee Hyori “Miss Korea” – Vote for it Here!

Side note about Lee Hyori: you remember that video we did with Jung Saem Mool a while ago? Well, in that video we talked about how they’re responsible for a lot of the makeup for Kpop idols? Well, they’re also – from what I’ve been told – responsible for Lee Hyori’s makeup in this video. Cool! We still talk to Jung Saem Mool from time to time. They’re cool people :D

Anyhow, we’re not sure how well this song is going to do considering the competition it’s up against, so we talked about it a lot more than we would otherwise in a KpopCharts Update. Quite frankly, it’s not the best Hyori song out there, but it’s really quite interesting as a music video and how it relates to its lyrics, which we mentioned, like, 4 times in the KpopCharts update. Yeah! Isn’t Lee Hyori supposed to release a bunch of videos, though? I think I read that somewhere. If so, I can wait to see more bombast. She’s good for that :D

Also…congratulations to the winners of the signed uBEAT CDs! If you won, please send us an email and we’ll send out your CDs ASAP! WOOOHOO!

Time for another livechat! Well, not time for it now, because we publish these livechats after they go live. But, here you can see it in case you missed it the first time!

Last week we felt terrible for showing a bunch of packages and not opening. NOW WE’RE OPENING THEM! Thanks to all the amazing Nasties who sent us fun stuff, including:

1 Iliana + Lea and Ralla the Cats, Le Puente, California
2 Nastya the Super Nasty from Russia
3 Villy and Kristina from Lithuania
4 Becky from Northern Ireland
5 Dr. Janet Owen from Washington, USA but currently living in Scotland
6 Lily and Cassie from Ohio, USA (the pet package :D )
7 Jen + Rae from Texas, USA

Gotta say, we’re super excited about the package from Dr. Owen. We saw the name and we’re like “A FREAKING DOCTOR WATCHES US?!” Weird. Doctors aren’t really our target demographic. In fact, I’m not sure what Drs actually watch. Well, Dr. Owen might not be a medical Dr., but a scholarly one. Still, even more reason to not watch our unscholarliness. Point is, THAT SCOTTISH STUFF LOOKS AMAZING BAARRRGGHGHGHLALAYYGGGH *drool*

And that super healthy snack food stuff looks GLORIOUS! Right now we’re carb counting, so even though these snacks are really healthy, we still gotta keep our carb count low for a little bit longer (10 more days!!!) and then we’ll be able to try this out, because it looks SO GOOD! Coconut stuff is great. We use a lot of coconut flour and coconut oil, but we never tried coconut chips. AYO! That looks awesome.

Anyhow, we’re off to film a WANK now while we’ve got time and energy. At 7PM we’re filming something big with a French channel, from Canal+. Yay! It’s gonna be a super fun program and we’re looking forward to it. We’ll keep you up to date with it all once we know when it’s gonna air.

Point is, if you’re in Hongdae tonight, you might see us there. Yoohoo!

Sidenote: sorry to everyone who thought we were livechatting with uBEAT. This was just a thumbnail that we saw that we thought looked cool, like our other thumbnails. We just take pics from our iPhoto and make thumbnails out of them. Sorry guise! Next time we’ll keep our photos with Kpop idols secret. Deal!

Ok! So this is a bit of a more bizarre WANK, and one that very few people will be able to experience themselves if they come to Korea. We didn’t even know about it until Daily Planet contacted us like “hay we wanna make a video with you about this in Korea” and we were like “THIS EXISTS IN KOREA?!”

So, yes, this taxi driver has pimped his ride in a very bizarre manner. He put a noraebang in it. He put in massage chairs. He put in a fountain with a garden. And you wouldn’t even be able to tell from looking at the outside of his taxi, because it looks like just any old taxi. I’m sure that if he had a more conspicuous taxi people would be like “I ain’t gotta go anywhere but I’ll sure as hell get in the taxi for…umm, to go up the street!”

It was a lovely experience. Taxi rides are usually very stressful for us. They drive like freaking maniacs a lot of the time. We’re always like “why is our car moving so much faster than all the other cars?” with rare exception. This taxi ride, though, was totally smooth and relaxing. No rush, no fuss, no muss, just lovely, smooth driving with a sweet old man singing us songs we don’t understand. That happened once to us a while ago, back when we did that shoot with Groove Magazine. No, there wasn’t a garden, but a sweet old man sang traditional Korean music in notes a bit louder than whispers. He didn’t sing for us. He didn’t sing to us. He sang for himself, beautifully, and we were lucky to be in the car with him. I don’t remember much more about it because we dozed off so freaking hardcore, but I remember waking up when we got to the location and not wanting to get out of the car. This Garden Taxi had more razzle dazzle than that taxi, which was completely unadorned, but the feeling of having the most relaxing and enjoyable taxi ride of our lives was definitely there, compared to the bad taxis we usually get.

Ok, now that story time’s over, there’s going to be Asia Tech Week on Daily Planet on the Discovery Channel Canada. It’s going to air from Monday to Friday as of next week. It should run anywhere between 4 and 7 PM, depending on your city and time zone. Point is, we’re on TV yo! We, ourselves, won’t be able to see the program, but if you do happen to watch it on TV let us know! Send us picture or something or TIVO it or pull out your iPhones and show it to us! We don’t have access to Canadian TV!

I think it might also be on the Daily Planet Website afterwards, for those of you non-Canadian Nasties. We’re going to be asleep when it airs – Canadian evenings are Korean mornings for us, and we don’t wake up till the PM, so we won’t know till afterwards. We’ll check in Tuesday morning our time to see if it’s up.

Side note: thanks to the Discovery Channel team for being so professional. Whenever we shoot things with TV shows, they’re usually like “we’d like to film for an hour” then film for gortdamned three, and then ask for more, regardless of if we have a schedule to keep or not. Daily Planet here was in and out exactly when they said they’d be, and – for people like us who don’t have free time to do anything – we really appreciate it. Really. Thanks guise!

Also, we’ve got a few extra scenes just if you’re curious :D
