K Crunch Indie: Beat Rocket UnderwearCOMMENTS 33
Rocket Diary – Yahwa
It could just be me, but doesn’t this kinda remind you a bit of GD&TOP’s “Oh Yeah?” When the guitar kicks in for the first few seconds, I just wanna sing “OH YEAH! OH OH OH YEAH!” Both songs have that kind of chill and have fun kind of feel to them. Not sure why. Anyhow, we’re really digging this song and we hope you like it as well. Kinda feel like we need to make a mega sized Korean Indie playlist including a whole bunch of indie songs, rather than just doing three vids a week. No?
We’re not super crazy about this song, but it is something quite different that we don’t usually find in the indie scene. It has the feeling of Clazziquai, but with less bossa nova feel to it, and more rapping. I can’t remember the name of the track, but I heard another song by them that doesn’t have a music video, and I liked it a lot better than this song. It had a verrrry ethnic feel to it as well. Does anyone know what song I’m talking about? Anyhow, I haven’t really fallen in love with this band, but I’m gonna keep my eyes open for their other stuff.
We Got Underwear and Lots of Girls
I really hope that this song is up some people’s alleys. I know last week’s Turtle’s Swim Surprisingly Fast was a big hit with you all last week, because that song is so ridiculously cute and accessible. This song, though, is really long. It’s not even the full song. The video just abruptly cuts. And it’s not cute, or sing-a-long-y. It’s very moody music. But sometimes moody music is good, isn’t it? We love moody music. Kpop, we find, is upbeat and chipper, and good if you’re in the mood for it, but you can’t be in the mood for uppity pop music all the time, right? Some times you just want to zone out, stare out into the distance, or have some music in the background while you read. You know? Music like this, in our opinion, is perfect for it. We get it a lot in Western Indie music, but rarely in Korean Indie, so we’re really happy to hear this song. Yeah!
