1) 얼스 [Earls] – Hey Luna!

This song has a very funk jazz lounge feel to it, but it’s not really jazz, I don’t really know what to call it because I don’t listen to a lot of music like this, but I think it’s really more funk then anything else. If you’re a fan of Jamiroquai, I feel like these guys could be a good compliment to him. At the 2:00 minute mark there is a badass 80’s worthy bass “WWWAAAAHHHHHHRRHHH” slide that totally sounds like it belongs in a sexy R&B song, and then sounds like the opening of the tv show “Sex in the City”. I’m actually a bigger fan of their song “Shining Star” more then “Hey Luna!” because Shining Star has more of a heavy funk feel. And I dig funk. Check them both out if out get the chance.

2) 소란 (Soran) – 살빼지 마요

Oh Soran, with your sneaky music video. Here we expected something simple but then you surprised us with this. Now I can’t tell if this has been filmed all in one take or if it has been cleverly editing and filmed to make it seem that way. I’m just struggling with the idea that they’d be able to get all those balloons positioned in time for the camera to make its scan to the guy holding chicken and then the guys with balloons. Actually, it’s definitely not done in one take :D Plus, I can’t tell if the guy holding chicken is the guitar player or a clever body double on the couch or vice versa! AHH! Either way, I clap my hands for you Soran, because that video took a lot of work to make, and we know how hard it is to get up and film just one scene let alone something that complicated.

3) Standing Egg – Lalala

OOOhh a stop animation music video! It’s one of those things that are really hard to stop watching, like sleepy puppy video or every single OK GO music video. I can never tear myself away from an OK GO music video even though I’ve seen all of them a 1834791874937 times. Anyhow, back to Standing Egg. This is just a lovely upbeat song with all the right lalala’s and bongo beats. Now this track is an older one, released in 2010, but you should check out their newest track released on April 9th 2012. After dedicatedly searching, I actually found their official YouTube page, so browse through their videos and help boost their view count!
