Kpop Music Mondays: 2NE1 “Can’t Nobody”

It’s time for another edition of Kpop Music Mondays! Last week we reviewed “SHINee’s Lucifer.” This week we review one of 2NE1′s three new songs, “Can’t Nobody”

2NE1′s recently released three new songs and three music videos all at once (wow!), and we could only review one, so we picked “Can’t Nobody” instead of “Go Away” and “Clap Your Hands.” “Clap Your Hands” is a good song, but the video doesn’t have as much going for it as “Can’t Nobody,” while “Go Away” is just freaking miserable. It’s totally out of left field. You watch the first two and you’re all upbeat and chipper and then you watch this one and feel depressed. Bah!

Also, the winner of last week’s Showdown between SHINee’s “Lucifer” and SNSD’s “Run Devil Run” was clearly, clearly SHINee. The final count was 330-130. Not even close! This week we pit 2NE1′s “Can’t Nobody” against F(x)’s “Nu Abo” and asks you which one is more Hood. Leave your votes in the comments below! Also, if you happen to know anything about where the hood is in Korea, please let us know, because we’ve never been, but it seems to produce a lot of Kpop music.

Hi! I came across your Youtube channel a while back and I just wanted to tell you that I love the videos you guys have up! The Music Mondays are just an awesome addition! I love both 2ne1 and f(x), but when it comes to picking which is more "hood", I don't think either make the cut honestly BUT I tried to think of which group would scare me more if I came across them in suburbia, and 2ne1 wins, just because of the spiked hoody. Imagine brushing past that in a crowded station… So my vote goes to 2ne1 :) (Just kidding, I think their lyrics are more "hoodier" than f(x)'s too :) )

Come on people, you don't even have to think about this one, 2NE1 is def . the most badass. Can you see anyone in f(x) saying "you ain't shit w/o your crew" or "I don't give a fuck" or swearing at all or dancing that way. or ever having songs that are "hood" T___T ?

2NE1 is starting to cross the bridge from Hood to straight up GANGSTA! By the way, that "I don't really give a WHOOO" line is probably my favorite in the song. We just didn't have a chance to mention it in our video.

I'm not familiar with f(X). Just have heard of them. I think CL and Minzy of 2ne1 can do the hood thing. I think Minzy would actually know what it is lol and Bommie is from America so she would for sure. CL has lived in Japan so she would I think. When I saw the video the slide reminded me of Space mountain lol. I just found y'alls blog today and have been enjoying the video's. Too cute and humorous. With 2ne1 I believe CL speaks fluent English and Bom lived in the U.S. so she knows English well obviously. They need some advice from Lil Wayne lol. The little rap was too cute. I'm not surprised with SHINee vs SNSD since SNSD does have the largest anti fan base in Kpop music lol. Since I haven't heard anything from f(x) I'm not going to vote since that wouldn't be fair.

Oh only if I had started to watch your videos earlier… But still on the subject of F(x)'s 'hood' ness vs. 2ne1. The winner should be F(x) they have Amber who comes from LA… Should explain it there. Although 2ne1's 15 year old drop out kinda matches. I like both! Also what's wrong with the English in Nu ABO?

ok im american and im black and i was from the baltimore and i can say 2ne1 has some hood but mainly the 2 minzy and the one in blond (i guess thats boom)……the blonde has alot of attitude that people would have in the hood, and minzy has this fiestyness that would make her survive the other 2 ….idk….one seems a tad off with the beats and the red haired one seems to quiet and timid

Naw the blonde you are referring to is CL(the leader &main rapper). She is other one with the super duper awesomeness. Bom is the lead vocal(the red head). Minzy and CL are the ones in the group with have edge. Dara and Bom have it just not has much.
