Kpop Music Mondays: SHINee “Lucifer”
Last week we started our first episode of Kpop Music Mondays with Miss A’s “Bad Girl, Good Girl.” This week we review SHINee’s “Lucifer.” This song is pretty huge in Korea now; we’re pretty much guaranteed to hear it at least once every 20 minutes if you’re walking down a busy street. No joke. It’s quite a change from their last song, Ring Ding Dong, in which they were angels. Now Lucifer? Devils? Angels? Anyone else see a theme here? Anyhow, the dance to Lucifer is insane. INSANE. Ring Ding Dong was a lot easier to mimic, while Lucifer is incredibly difficult. We’ve noticed that a lot of Korean Pop songs have easily imitable dance moves, which helps with marketing. But this?! The dance to Lucifer looks really, really good, but it’s hella hard to do. Hopefully you’ll learn a bit of it from this video (though we can’t promise we’re much good at the dance ourselves).
Also, the winner of last week’s Showdown between Miss A’s “Bad Girl, Good Girl” and T-ara’s “I Go Crazy Because of You” was Miss A. Final count was 152-114. Huzzah! This week we pit SHINee’s “Lucifer” against Girls’ Generation’s “Run Devil Run” and asks you which one is more devilish. Leave your votes in the comments below!
