HOLY CHOCOLATE COATED MARSHMALLOWS! I can tell you right now we never ever ever thought this day would come. One million subscribers!?? WOW. A lot of YouTubers have that defining video that goes viral and they suddenly have a big boom. That never happened with us. We just made videos and slowly started to get viewers that were interested in our silly stuff. Sometimes we forget just how long we’ve been making videos for; it’s been eight years. Eight years of putting our adventures, personal opinions, and life perspective up online. Eight years of changing weight, hairstyles, and clothing style, speaking styles, country styles. Eight years of looking back and seeing how we’ve grown and changed. We have essentially made a public diary for anyone to see, and as we look back on our older videos we see how we have changed and how our opinions have changed too.
But the one thing that has never changed is our sincere gratitude to all of you, for being such a kind audience. You inspire us, and you keep us going. Whether you have been watching us since the beginning, the middle, or are brand spanking new, we want you to know that all your comments, messages, letters, drawings, and thoughtful packages are more important to us than any number that shows up on screen.
You make us laugh, smile, and find motivation to make more videos with every message you send us, with every comment you leave, every letter you mail. That message can be simple, like a happy tweet, a positive comment, a thumbs up, or even a big hug when we meet you in person. All these things feel as exciting to us as the first day we got a subscriber, read our very first comment, or had our first chance to meet you guise in person. We’ll never take that for granted, ever. What we’re trying to say is thank you. Thank you for giving us motivation to be better and to try harder and thank you for bringing us into your lives.
And on that mushy mushy note, I’d like to metion that we now have enough subscribers to finally make a small country. Let us dub this new country Nasty Island. The official animal is the rare Spudgicorn. The official flower is a Meemerosa. Now we shall sing the official anthem….OOOHHHH YOUUUUU SO NASSSTTTYYYYYYY….OH YOU SO NAH-HAH-STYYYYYY…..OOOOH OOOH OHHH OHHHHH…..OOH YOU OHH YOU SO NASTTY.
Also, this video: so much fun to make! Except the getting up at 6:00am and filming until 7:00pm part. And Martina getting a wicked bad sunburn because she is a vampire. But besides that we drove all over Tokyo in these go-karts that go as fast as real cars. It was utterly exhilarating, and we have to give a shout out to the owners of MariCAR for helping us out with this video shoot. They literally drove around with us, waited for us to get all the shots we needed, and didn’t grumble once! Interestingly as well: turns out they loved Kpop (especially Big Bang), so Martina was blasting Big Bang from her car speakers the whole time (you can hook your phone up to the kart’s speakers as you’re driving!). If you’re in Tokyo I seriously recommend renting these amazing cars to see the city.
And of course, we had so much epic footage from the day that we put together another small video here. It’s got behind the scenes footage, as well as bloopers where you’ll see/hear Demon Dan working hard.
Also, big thanks to Castro for the music. It sounds so legitimately like Mario Kart, don’t you think? The sound effects were our own, though. It’s too bad we didn’t film a video of us recording them. We just did them into a microphone. But it was fun.
