HOLY CHOCOLATE COATED MARSHMALLOWS! I can tell you right now we never ever ever thought this day would come. One million subscribers!?? WOW. A lot of YouTubers have that defining video that goes viral and they suddenly have a big boom. That never happened with us. We just made videos and slowly started to get viewers that were interested in our silly stuff. Sometimes we forget just how long we’ve been making videos for; it’s been eight years. Eight years of putting our adventures, personal opinions, and life perspective up online. Eight years of changing weight, hairstyles, and clothing style, speaking styles, country styles. Eight years of looking back and seeing how we’ve grown and changed. We have essentially made a public diary for anyone to see, and as we look back on our older videos we see how we have changed and how our opinions have changed too.

But the one thing that has never changed is our sincere gratitude to all of you, for being such a kind audience. You inspire us, and you keep us going. Whether you have been watching us since the beginning, the middle, or are brand spanking new, we want you to know that all your comments, messages, letters, drawings, and thoughtful packages are more important to us than any number that shows up on screen.

You make us laugh, smile, and find motivation to make more videos with every message you send us, with every comment you leave, every letter you mail. That message can be simple, like a happy tweet, a positive comment, a thumbs up, or even a big hug when we meet you in person. All these things feel as exciting to us as the first day we got a subscriber, read our very first comment, or had our first chance to meet you guise in person. We’ll never take that for granted, ever. What we’re trying to say is thank you. Thank you for giving us motivation to be better and to try harder and thank you for bringing us into your lives.

And on that mushy mushy note, I’d like to metion that we now have enough subscribers to finally make a small country. Let us dub this new country Nasty Island. The official animal is the rare Spudgicorn. The official flower is a Meemerosa. Now we shall sing the official anthem….OOOHHHH YOUUUUU SO NASSSTTTYYYYYYY….OH YOU SO NAH-HAH-STYYYYYY…..OOOOH OOOH OHHH OHHHHH…..OOH YOU OHH YOU SO NASTTY.

Also, this video: so much fun to make! Except the getting up at 6:00am and filming until 7:00pm part. And Martina getting a wicked bad sunburn because she is a vampire. But besides that we drove all over Tokyo in these go-karts that go as fast as real cars. It was utterly exhilarating, and we have to give a shout out to the owners of MariCAR for helping us out with this video shoot. They literally drove around with us, waited for us to get all the shots we needed, and didn’t grumble once! Interestingly as well: turns out they loved Kpop (especially Big Bang), so Martina was blasting Big Bang from her car speakers the whole time (you can hook your phone up to the kart’s speakers as you’re driving!). If you’re in Tokyo I seriously recommend renting these amazing cars to see the city.

And of course, we had so much epic footage from the day that we put together another small video here. It’s got behind the scenes footage, as well as bloopers where you’ll see/hear Demon Dan working hard.

Also, big thanks to Castro for the music. It sounds so legitimately like Mario Kart, don’t you think? The sound effects were our own, though. It’s too bad we didn’t film a video of us recording them. We just did them into a microphone. But it was fun.

  3. Happy day!!! I’ve checked up on your channel off and on since early 2012, when I was going through my K-pop phase (but is it ever really a “phase”?)…that was high school. Now I’m in college pursuing a ridiculous dual degree, and the other day I thought, “What are Simon and Martina up to these days?” I’m stoked you’re living it up in Japan and sharing your experience just like you did in Korea! You guys never stop being you, and I wanna see you slay that dragon at 2 million. :)

  4. Thank you so much for going through the time and effort to make this amazing video (among you other amazing videos). When ever I feel down I watch or re-watch your videos and they make me happy and excited to go and make my own adventures. The real life Mario Kart looks exhilarating if not terrifying, especially by all those giant container trucks in the beginning. Good thing people in Japan are better drivers than in Korea…can you imagine doing this in Seoul?!

Congratulations on 1,000,000 and I hope you get to 2,000,000 to see your Skyrim / Dovakin video of you guys slaying a dragon!!!

  7. I find myself constantly admiring the two of you, two people who are so utterly satisfied and content with each other that they can travel the world and live in places where they have no roots, learn an entire new language and adapt to an entirely new culture together. I love the new perspective that the two of you have given me (and so many other people) on South Korea, and now on Japan. Hopefully in the future you’ll still continue to be the successful and attractive couple that you are right now! c:

  8. This was epic! Thanks for all the fun you have shared over the years. I am not surprised that you have made it this far. Congratulations!

  9. So please everyone, don’t kill me because I don’t really know anything about kpop, but I’m so happy that discovered your guise’s videos last month! I don’t even remember exactly what my specific YouTube search was when I saw this adorable puppy video & I clicked on it. It was the Spudgy Adventure Now Korea, Spudgy goes for a walk & I loved it! I clicked on the next related video (How to Eat Ramen like a Pro followed by the Korean Fried Chicken episode), and the next, and the next one was Martina’s Draw My Life. I cried. I could easily imagine how isolating and frustrating it must have been for you growing up & repeatedly getting injured (I fell backwards down two flights of stairs in my junior year of high school & was home in bed pretty much for almost a year. It was high school, so I lost a lot of my friends & just became so depressed. It changed me but it taught me a lot too about people) and you didn’t let that break you. You stayed positive, met Simon, adopted Spudgy then Meemers & are now living your dream! Go Martina! I then watched Simon’s Draw My Life (Simon, your childhood buddies **sucked** I’m so sorry they did that to you & your family! You’re incredibly forgiving & so sensitive/empathetic & it shows how big your heart is), I’m just amazed that you were both so courageous & adventurous! (I cried at Spudgy’s Draw My Life, too — thank you both for giving him such a wonderful life & family to love.) You’ve vlogged it all: it amazes & tickles me! I wish I could be so brave & outgoing! You guise really inspire me, make me laugh & want to challenge myself to do more/be more. Thank you so much & congrats again on passing 1M subscribers. You both are wonderful & I love watching your love for each other no matter what the situation or who loses at the Challenges . Thank you both for making my life better by sharing yours .

  10. I can´t put into words, how proud I am that you two adorable dorks have finally reached 1 million subscribers! For three years now you have been my inspiration. Not only do I laugh with you, but I have learned a lot of things concerning South Korea, Japan etc. At home I always make eyk related jokes :) ( y´know singing “soy und dorito”, “ayee girling” my sister while rolling down my sexy window and losing my pants ;) You have been such a huge influence in my life, even though I have never met you in person (but I have watched your live chats, which felt like skyping with you guys and furthermore I visited your café two years ago, but only my sister met you in the end, which was extremely frustrating)So I just wanted to tell you guise, that I really enjoy EVERY SINGLE VIDEO you make, I love your energy and motivation and I love the way you two are living your life! When I am a real adult, I want to be just as open-minded, respectful, understanding and humerous as you two are.
Maybe you will never read this, but I really wanted to express my gratitude.
    Oooh you so nasty :D

  13. Congratulations! I love seeing all the fun things that you guys do :) In this video, I loved watching the people in the background (especially when there were kids) to see how many people were excited to see you guys go past. I’m wondering how many people will do something like this after seeing you guys!

  14. BEST VIDEO EVER!! That was so amazing! The music and voice overs were so spot on that I had to re-watch the video just to listen to them. Not to mention the different camera shots and locations were awesome. I could go on and on, but I will stop my geeking out now.
Congratulations on making it to one million subscribers, you guys definitely deserve it!!!

  15. Eight years, huh? The time sure does fly. I’m really not sure when exactly I started watching your videos, I know it was before FAPFAPS came out.. it’s definitely been a while… Something like 5 years?

I remember the journey you two have taken, and I’ve watched you grow and change. What has always been nice for me is that your really great personalities have stayed the same.

I’ve learned a lot, and I always enjoy your videos. This one had me alternately cracking up and a little emotional. When showing your videos to other people for the first time I’m always saying stuff like ‘I don’t know these people, but I feel like I do. In a way, they’re pretty important to me. They’ve been a big part of my life. I hope you enjoy it.’

    Thanks guys, and good luck.

  19. Holy crap but that video was FREAKING AWESOME! Congratulations on the 1,000,000 subscribers!!!
I’m so glad that I made that bet to get you up to 500,000 ;) even though I didn’t get anything for winning it. Heh. Thanks for making me smile again and again even when I am having a very hard day. Love you guise! <3

Cyber_3 – My son is going to go APESHIT when he gets home from school and sees this!

    • Let me know how your son reacts! I’d love to hear it :D

      • He really loved it – there was much gawking and gaping! I’m not sure he closed his mouth the whole time – LOL! He also enjoyed the “behind the scenes” because he wasn’t entirely convinced that it wasn’t all green screen somehow. Was it scary driving being shorter than all the cars? There were TONS of big trucks around you guys when you were on the main roads.

Husband: “Meh, it’s been done.” and yet he couldn’t stop watching the entire video AND the “behind the scenes”. Twice. Hah.(great music choice btw)

    • oh and of course, HAPPY 1 MILLION SUBS!! =) 百万サブスクライバー、おめでとう〜 \(*^_^*)/

  24. First of all, I’m very surprised that Simon didn’t cram the entire cupcake into his mouth, I had to pause the video and check that I hadn’t been brought into a dimension where everything is completely wonky.

But congrats on reaching ONE MILLION SUBSCRIBERS! To be frank, I’m having one of those battles with my inner hipster. I have been a big fan of you guys before, quote on quote, it was cool. My sister introduced you guys to me back when I was just in middle school, and ever since then I’ve been hooked. EYK has become such a big part of my life that I sometimes make random references in public without realizing it. And then people give me weird looks. I once even got pulled aside by the vice principle at my high school because she caught me singing, “kiss and touch me, rub my bananas,” and I then had to awkwardly explain to her the intricacies of kpop. She eventually let me go, probably because I was spouting off nonsense.

Anyways, I’m rambling. I just want to give a huge thank you to you guys. I got to meet you at Vancouver and needless to say, I was giddy for at least 36 hours afterwards. You’re a huge inspiration to me, and I can’t wait to see what you guys will be up to in the future!

Suggestion! When you do reach 2 million, maybe Simon can dress up in that dragon onesie that he wore when dancing in Chuseok ;)

  25. Such fun. Love the show guys. I am a recent sub and have been slowing consuming your backlog while on my commute to work. I’ll hopefully be visiting Japan in the fall for a week. Hopefully I’ll meet cool people such as yourselves when I am out there!

You guys are awesome! If I knew married couples such as yourselves I’d have probably been married myself by now! Who knew married life was so awesome? ^_^

  26. I’ve always wanted to write a comment how much I like you, but I’ve never did. I think it’s time to finally do it now, when you hit million subscribers.

So… I like you :) Your videos always make me smile. I watch them when I’m down and they make me feel better. So big THANK YOU for that! I look up to you. You’re great as a vloggers, as a people and as a couple.

I’m looking forward to your new videos. Hopefully you gonna keep doing them for next eight years.

    You guys totally rock!!! <3

    • Also, I just want to say, thank you for making videos and sharing a part of your lives with us. I really wish I could be friends with you in real life, because you are lovely, positive, funny, happy people and project such a wonderful energy into the world. I’ve been watching your videos for almost 5 years after a friend introduced me to your channel, and in a strange “I watch you have fun over the internet” kind of way (that phrasing sounds more creepy than it is, haha), I do feel like you friends to all of us Nasties. You bring joy and levity to life that is infectious, and you have exactly the kind of marriage that I would want for myself. I think that’s a wonderful, inspiring thing that your videos are something people can easily point to as a goal for their own relationships, which they may or may not have IRL around them.
Keep being the lovely, fun people that you are, and as long as you still post videos I’ll keep watching them! :) (P.S. It was so wonderful to meet you in Seattle, thank you for touring the US this past summer!)

  31. CONGRATULATIONS!!!! This video is super awesome! I smiled through the whole thing while wondering how you filmed some of those scenes! It was very well done. I’ve been following you guys for at least 5 years now and I met you both in California. I’m so happy to be a part of the nasty family! Keep it up! I love your videos! <3 <3 <3

    Yours truly,
