Personal Claw Machine

In the spirit of Halloween, we have yet another video that’s somewhat related to candy, with this personal claw machine! Though, of course, you can fill it with stuff other than candy, we decided to put in a bunch of the candies we’ve saved from Finland. Did I ever get to thank you for giving us all of this salted liquorish? No? Well…thanks! Not because we like the taste of it. I still don’t understand how it could be enjoyable. Our palettes are just so totally different in that regard, but I will say thanks for giving us something to have fun with on camera. Second level fun, not first level fun. First level fun is when you’re having fun in the moment and then fun when you remember it. Second level fun is when you’re NOT having fun at the moment, but it’s fun when you remember it afterwards. This is definitely second level, right here.

You know, I just realized something: at the end of the video, when I did what I did, I didn’t actually clean up afterwards. I hid it under the rug, and I totally forgot that I left it there until now. It’s Saturday afternoon, and we filmed this on Wednesday. Errr…Finnish people: you wouldn’t happen to know if Salmiakki goes bad or anything when exposed to saliva and left alone? I’m worried it might become, like, a Gremlin. Who knows. I should get that when we’re in the studio on Monday. I just have to make sure I remember. I probably won’t, though. Next week is a crazy week. BUT SO WAS THIS WEEK! And, for once, look at all the videos we published! We did our regular schedule AND posted extra videos as well AND did a LiveChat! Holy smokes! It feels great being back in and getting stuff done! We’ll be able to do so next week as well! The week afterwards we’re going to Taiwan, though, I think…but for now let’s just enjoy this burst of productivity!

Anyhow, if you want to pick up a claw machine for yourself, you can get it on Gmarket. Woohoo! We definitely have more plans to play with this in the future. Gmarket also sold capsule balls that you could put in there if you want, but we decided not to for this video.

Also, we played this for a long time, but we cut out some of the scenes in the middle. If you feel like seeing some more, we have them in the bloopers here!

  2. Oh, they sell these in the U.S. About 4-5 years ago I bought one for the husband for Christmas. Then I bought a bunch of toys from those quarter machines in front of stores just so I could get the small plastic capsules the prize came in. I assigned numbers to his presents and put the numbers in those capsules. He had to win his gift before he could open it. He ended up loving his claw machine most of all and played with it all morning.

    • Marriage, done right. Especially if you keep it for special occasions.
For some reason I have an idea for naughty ones. Please don’t judge me, lol

  3. Dear Simon, please clean the salmiakki from under the rug before it gains conscience and tries to take over the world. Thanks, a random citizen.

PS: Martina I love your earrings, where did you get them?

    • That would be a good incentive for adults!! For kids, not so much, as I know when I was younger I used to spend a lot of money on them :(

  6. My cousin has a claw machine except his is red and white. Not really sure who got it for him though…

Here’s something interesting: I ‘m doing part-time work at a candy store right now in Vancouver. We do sell some Dutch licorice in bulk. Especially Salmiak. It’s not bad as a salmiak coin… I mean it’s better than just pure salted black licorice or the candy fruit slices that are in the store.
