Spudgy Likes Video Games

What does Spudgy do when we leave him at home? We set up a secret cam to find out. Yes, we haven’t posted any Spudgy videos in a long time, so forgive us the digression here, but lately we’ve found that Spudgy has been quite the jerk when we leave the house, so we wanted to see exactly what he’s been doing. We set up our old camera, put it on a tripod and constant power source, and just let it run for a couple of hours while we were out. We were planning on unearthing Spudgy’s tactics when we got home. Instead, we saw something a lot worse than we expected. When we came home, we found that Spudgy had, for some reason, taken our Nintendo Wii games off the spindle. They’re all scratched to hell now and unusable. Mario Party, we hardly knew ye. Mario Kart Wii, you weren’t that good anyways. I mean, seriously: timed battle mode? What a terrible idea! But that’s besides the point: why Spudgy thought getting those games would help him, we’re not really sure. He wasn’t trying to eat them. He just wanted to get to the pack of gum behind the games. Maybe by pulling off the games one by one he’d get the final prize? Who knows.

See, ever since Spudgy’s last surgery, the vet told us that Spudgy needs to go on a diet, and actually be underweight. Because of his hips, he should be putting as little weight on his frame as possible. So, we put him on a diet. Spudgy, though, disagrees with this notion thoroughly, and so, when we’re out of the house, he will tear it apart to try to find food. This picture here is a common sight when we come home, so common that we’ve gotten in the habit of putting a lock on our garbage before we leave the house. If we’re ever in a rush, though, and forget, then we get this picture on the left here, along with a wagging tail, like “Look mom and dad! I found noms! Come join me in this glory!” Ah, if only he knew how much it upsets us! The worst was when, a few months ago, when we came back from our Trip to Canada, we brought with us a secret stash of candies that we could only find in Canada. Well, we didn’t do the best job of hiding them, and so Spudgy got into them, and ate them all. The jerk! We came home and saw him laying on his back, hungover from his sugar rush, like “guys, you never will believe what I just found”
