WANK – Shopping in Myeongdong, Seoul

Welcome to the first episode of our new segment – Wonderful Adventure Now Korea, aka WANK – where we travel around Korea, show off some cool destinations, and just play around with each other in Korea. Think of it kind of as the Simon and Martina variety show. I don’t think we’ll be doing the 3x Replay of funny events from lots of different angles, though. I also don’t think we’ll be getting celebrities on our show…YET! Just wait! Give it a year, and I bet you we can get at least one member of Batoost on WANKing with us…yeah right. Any thoughts of who would be the best Kpop WANKer?

So this is our first adventure, and we’re going to Myeongdong! It only seems reasonable, seeing how it’s almost Christmas, and we needed to do some Christmas shopping. Why not take you to one of the most popular shopping districts in Seoul? Myeongdong’s right in the heart of Seoul, and it’s a popular tourist destination, with lots of both local and big name franchise shopping. It’s also got some awesome street food, which we did a video about A LOOONG TIME AGO. As well, it has one of our favourite Kalguksu restaurants, Myeongdong Kalguksu, which is intensely awesome. We didn’t include it in our main WANKing video, but we talk about it a bit in our bloopers. Yay!

We had a great time otherwise. We met a bunch of nice people that took pictures with us (yay!) and were able to buy a bunch of Kpop socks, which – we’re not sure – might be illegal to sell. We remember when we first came to Korea Kpop socks were EVERYWHERE. Now, they’re quite hard to come by. Was there a big Kpop Sock crackdown by the police or something? We don’t know. We were just happy to find them and to buy a bunch. Woot!

Anyhow, our first adventure got off to a rough start, because I (Simon here) got nasty sick. Ahh! Martina was sick last week so we couldn’t start WANKing then, and so we only announced our segment. We couldn’t postpone it this week, though, so we went out, took a bunch of medicine, drank a lot of coffee, and went WANKing. Huzzah!

Also, let us know who won our individual challenges today: Martina’s Engrish or mine? Who had the better picture to pose with (I think it’s clear I won that one). And lastly, check out the bloopers in the video below, and tell us where you’d like us to go WANKing next!
