Welcome Back LiveChat!

It’s been a really long time since our last LiveChat. We were gone for January, and had some things to deal with in December, and then for most of this February we’ve had the flu and colds, but now we’re functional! We spent an entire week in the studio and did lots of video stuff. AAWWW YEAH! What better way to top it all off than to hang out with you guise for a LiveChat? Yes!

Anyhow, we had a great time with this week’s LiveChat. It feels like it’s been forever, and we were really happy chatting with you guise and being loud and obnoxious in our cafe. Hooray! Seriously, though: that brown and blue dress thing isn’t anywhere close to white and gold. People do know the different between gold and bronze, right? Gold is yellowy. I don’t see anything yellowy in that picture at all. And you know it’s true. I don’t even know how this became such a big thing.

Otherwise, yes, I’m dieting again, and it’s sad and tough but I’ve already lost five pounds and look a lot better in the mirror than before, I think. We’re going to Punta Cana at the end of March. Our first time in the Dominican Republic! And our first tropical adventure together. We went on a cruise for our Honeymoon, and only really spend a few hours in each location, but since then we’ve pretty much spent our vacation time visiting our families. This time, we’re spending a week at a resort and we’re gonna swim and lounge and do nothing! We’re also stopping by to see our families for the week before we go to Punta Cana, so we can adjust to jet lag before the wedding, so we don’t sleep through the wedding (ha!). Anyhow, point is, if we do take any pictures of our time there for the wedding, I’ll look half-decent, I hope :D

Special thanks to:

Jennifer from Newfoundland, Canada
Veronica Mejia, again, from LA, CA

Your packages were awesome! Thank you for making me remember how I lost my last tooth. I like unlocking memories like that. Anyone ever read Proust? I doubt it, because he’s not that mainstream, I don’t think. Anyhow, he said something along the lines of spirits being trapped in inanimate objects, and you unlock them when you see them, and the memories of those objects take you at that moment. Otherwise, they keep their secrets hidden until you see them. He said it a lot prettier than I did, of course, but I still love that feeling of seeing things and remembering things I wouldn’t have remembered otherwise. I feel that a lot when I walk around Pickering, and I pass the old houses of old friends, I remember the times I spent there, and I otherwise never would have thought of them. I’m rambling now. I just like the mystery of memories, and so I love reading Proust, who has the best book ever written about memories.

Whoa, that took an awkward tour. I’ll stop now. Thanks for hanging out with us this week, our first week of full health! It feels great being back in the studio and filming and publishing and all. AWW YEAH. Hope to see you in next week’s chat as well!

  3. I just binge watched all (most) of your videos the past 4 days. What time does the live chat happen. The reason I ask is because I watch Korean Starcraft Leagues that are at 7pm but its 4:00 am in Chicago.

    • I’m not sure what time it’ll be in Chicago for you, but we usually do our LiveChats at 2PM Korean Time or so, I think, give or take an hour

  4. Is there any way to balance the sound of the live chats? There is an echo and the volume of your voices fluctuate between incomprehensibly quiet and shattered eardrums. I’ve adjust the volume about once every minute for the past 20 and now I am going to give up. I hate to be that guy but, I am.

    • You’re totally right, and, to be honest, I’m not sure. We record everything through our laptop, but we might have found a way to do so through another camera instead. We’re working on figuring it out, though!

  5. Ahhh, I have an awesome/terrible tooth losing story, although it wasn’t the last tooth I lost. I was in kindergarten and it was snack time, but my friend and I were dawdling washing our hands in the bathroom outside our classroom, so our teacher yelled at us that if we didn’t come inside we weren’t going to get any snack. Obviously, my friend took off running, and I ran after her. Buuuuuut I caught my toe on a little bump in the carpet or something and literally superman flew face first into the floor. I knocked out one of my front teeth, got blood all over my dress, and had rug-burn all down the left side of my face hahaha. Needless to say, I didn’t actually get to eat snack that day. And I don’t even remember what we were eating that I was so excited about anyway *facepalm*

  6. I think Fanmandrill (the largest and most colorful monkey in the world) would be a great name for Fangurilla’s oppa.

I had to get my last baby tooth pulled out by a dentist. Unfortunately my adult fangs emerged above my baby fangs and I couldn’t get one out because it was really stuck in there. I didn’t get any tooth fairy money because I “cheated” to get it out T_T
I remember losing one in a very soft plum.

  7. hiii. Would you consider making a video on books and what books you like/are reading? Or maybe even something to do with book culture in Korea. Oooh what about like a book month or book week with just book related vids? *nerds out*

    • We actually really are. I’ve gotten into being a bookworm again, and I kinda want to do a Book Club in Seoul, maybe even at the cafe. Not sure how to start something like that, though, but we’re looking into it :)

  8. Can you guys please make a work out video? I mean it could be at the gym or just anywhere I just really want to see Simon doing weight lifty grunt inducing things in a sailor moon shirt. I mean… it would be so phenomenal.

  9. I’m pretty sure you’ve already told a story about your tooth being pulled out by a piece of toffee, but I remember you saying you were a little kid, much younger than 8th grade. Did I remember it wrong or have you really lost TWO teeth to toffee???

    • You know, I thought I told the story before, as I was telling it, but i don’t remember. It was the same tale, though. Just one tooth on one day was lost to toffee :)

  10. Not mainstream? Proust is one of the most famous writers in French literature!
Anyhoo, good to see you again!

    • Well, not mainstream anymore. People will know other contemporary authors now instead of Proust :D

      • Well, I haven’t read it *coughs* but rest assured that every French person who went through the school system knows his work. He’s classic, right there with Victor Hugo, Emile Zola and Baudelaire. The madeleine bit (i.e. the memory thing) is so known that the expression “madeleine de Proust” is still used, though it sounds a tad pretentious.
Props to you, though, for having read it! I’m very impressed :D

        • It seriously is the best book I ever read, and I’m thinking about reading it again, it’s so good. I just have to finish reading some bad novels first!

  11. That dress thing is bizarre. At first I was convinced that people claiming to see gold/white were flat-out trolling the internet but… I guess the whole ‘your retina adds reds and greens in dim lighting’ explanation sounds…scientific?

Still, I get how you might see dimly lit black (which looks a bit brown) as gold but how does royal blue turn into white???

    • It’s definitely white and goldish/bronze to me though! What is this sorcery?

  12. Yeaaahhh, you said my name on the live chat. :) I hope you can come to Argentina and taste some delicious food for your FAP FAPs. How can we make that possible…?

    • Hmm. I don’t know how, but if anyone organizes an event for us we’ll gladly come. We just don’t know how to organize events in other countries, because we don’t know other countries very well, or – at least – well enough to be able to put something like that into motion.
