We’re hanging out at the coffee shop today and opening some packages for our LiveChat. And, right afterwards, we’re filming a really cool announcement video for something awesome we just built in there. Woot!

Anyhow, Harry, your music package was super fun. As soon as the LiveChat finished Soo Zee started playing around with it a bit, and after a few seconds of trying told us “I think I might be tone-deaf.” Ha! Now, as soon as we’re done publishing this post, I think we’re gonna storm out of the room playing our kazoos and slide-whistles, Eatyourkimchi style :D

Special thanks to everyone who sent us lovely packages, including:
Dana aka Bonkyubombgirl from Chicago
Elizabeth from Minnesota
Harry from Tacoma
Jess from Australia
Maybelline from Japan

On top of that, thank you to the awesome people who have left us special packages at the Cafe. I wish we could have met you in person! We took some pictures, though, of the goodies :D

Funny story about the root beer: we shared it with the baristas at You Are Here and made them a root beer float. A root beer float! Good luck finding those in Korea! Anyhow, we suggested putting that on the menu, because root beer floats are amazing, but, sadly, it seems like we can’t find any Korean people that like the taste of root beer. It tastes like Korean stomach medicine, supposedly. AHH! But…but…root beer is so delicious!

Also, just a quick heads up: I’m not sure if we’re gonna be able to do a LiveChat next week because we’re taking part in the YouTube FanFest, and Friday is the day of the big event. Hopefully we can do a LiveChat before then, or maybe we might be able to stream the event online? Hmm. I’m not sure. I’l have to ask.

  1. US Nasties you can buy Aero bars at the World Market, this is a chain store because I’ve seen them in a couple different states. They have lots of fun treats from all over the world. Hope this helps :)

  2. Hello Simon and Martina,

If you’re going on a tour of the US I highly suggest stopping by Columbus, Ohio for your mid-west stop. Why?

    1) Great location
    a. It is a major US city (we fight with San Francisco for 14th largest) without the crazy traffic. Seriously, the city is considering making a bid to hold the Olympics.
    b. You can drive to 5 other states (Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky, West Virginia, Pennsylvania) within about 3 hours.
    2) Fabulous attractions
    a. The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium is consistently ranked as one of or the best in the nation.
    b. I can honestly seeing you LOVE the Short North area. It is more eclectic, youthfully vibrant, hipster and artsy.
    4) The Columbus International Airport is large enough to provide many flight options but doesn’t have anywhere near the crazy bustle of places like O’Hare in Chicago. This means lines don’t suck and it is far easier to navigate.
    5) WE HAVE TIM HORTONS.

Thanks for the great videos :)

  4. Somehow I missed out on the fact that you guys do a radio show? >< Looks like I have 18 hours to catch up on… You guys should really add that to your About page weekly schedule (with a link please! I spent a good 10 minutes on google trying to find it). I'm actually listening to the latest episode right now and it's super fun :D You guys are doing a great job! <3 Also, I've been missing your KMM but this absolutely makes up for it. I wish I had been listening in from the start!

I've been listening to Shinee's Jonghyun on MBC FM4U for a long time now and the MBC website has set lists for each program so you can know what was played during the broadcast. Does SBS have an equivalent or no? I can't seem to find anything like that.

  5. guys, the “weird slippers” you got are slippers you’re supposed to wear around the house for people who wear high heels a lot. it’s supposed to help stretch the arch of your foot.

  7. The problem with the US tour is that most fans are in major cities whike the ones that get screw are the ones in smaller towns. For example in California there are 4 major cities, 3 in the south and 1 up north….That’s why the Orange Region meet-up was in Santa Monica in summer because people from other states came and people from the other 3 cities came as well….

  8. Haha, I love that you’ve been radio-fied now xD I remember in your first few radio shows you were still in video mode, and would talk about ‘viewers’ and ‘watching us’ – but now it’s reversed!!! Bwahahaha!!

Your radio show has now overtaken all your other videos to become my favourite EYK segment. It’s educating, entertaining, convenient (I can listen while working), and I think it really suits you :)

  9. I tried a root beer float once. Never again. To me, it tastes like 물파스, which is this liquid medicine you put on insect bites and sore muscles. It just… it just tastes WRONG. I tried so hard to like it, but I couldn’t get over that association to medicine that I automatically get from the herbal taste.
Can’t wait to see what you’ve been building inside the cafe! Is it done already? When I visited yesterday I couldn’t tell what it was supposed to be!

    • Ah! The project isn’t ready yet. It’s functional (it has a function) but it’s not fully decorated yet, and there are some small things that need tweaking. It’ll be ready for Monday though, for sure!

    • There is this medicine here in Canada that’s like…banana flavor? And I found a drink that tasted just like it, and I had to have the bottle surgically removed from my face, because it was so good! Does that make me a drug addict?

  10. I’m really pleased you liked my package, I am so amazed it arrived so quickly! I apologise for the terribly written note I hope you can actually read it :P. I kind of rambled a bit too. . . . sorry about that..and also my bad jokes which I’m pleased you didn’t read out-loud lol. I sent you some things you’ll like (vague much? lol) to make up for it. Including a much neater (and shorter) letter ^_^. The pens started the whole idea for the package haha, also the kitty socks and aero chocolate ^_^ Since I knew that was something Martina liked =D.
