Guise, let me just say, this was a lot harder than I had expected it to be. As many of you know, I grew up playing basketball. I’m pretty good at basketball. Not pro level, but I’m not embarrassing. So I thought that this was going to be a walk in the park. But, holy smokes, is this ever disorienting! You’d think the concept of ball in net is easy enough, but when it’s not only on top of your head, but a fair distance away from your head, getting your bearings is so challenging! And the balls don’t travel in an even pattern as well, because they’re so light. This was a lot more interesting than I thought it was going to be.
However, once you get your bearings, it makes a lot more sense. I’m amazed at the difference between the first and second round. Or, was I really just hustling Martina this whole time, giving her a false sense of having a chance, and then obliterating her in the second round, like the opening robot wars scene in Big Hero 6? Oh man! I lost so bad! Let’s play again! I’ll put in more money this time. AND THEN SHABLAM! Classic hustle, right there.
No, but really, the second round was surprising. I was genuinely worried that I was not going to do well. I did not feel confident with any of my throws, so to have so many of them going in was completely shocking, and I don’t even think I could reproduce that now if I had to play it again. That doesn’t mean that I didn’t enjoy the cupcake, though! I had to eat it quickly before Martina got to it, in case you forgot about what she did last time. I don’t trust her!
Also, you might not have met Ellwyn and Yewon yet. Ellwyn works on our Speaker’s Corner videos and he helps out with filming sometimes as well. He helped film this video, and also filmed a couple more videos for upcoming WTF videos. Yewon helps with research and stat verification for our TL;DRs and also for our SBS PopAsia radio show. And she’s a photographer, so she took a lot of our HappyLoveHappens pictures for our app. Tada! And now, you can see them eating cupcakes on camera, all while not sharing with Martina. Working here is fun!
