So this is a bit of a different kind of video. Meghan from Strawburry17 was coming over to Japan for a vacation, and we invited her and her friends over to Kichijoji so we could show them around, and then we shot a couple of videos together in our house :D
Funny story: we actually met her at the Sailor Moon Cafe! When we were in line, she was already seated. She came out and talked to us for a bit as we were waiting in line. We didn’t even plan on meeting there! Just a pure coincidence. If you check out our video, she was actually sitting somewhere to the left, behind Martina. I’m not sure if you can see her, though.
Anyhow, we talked about some ideas about videos to shoot together, because she’s fun and we have similar interests, and this video is what we thought of. We haven’t really had any cup ramen in Japan, and if we were going to try something new, it would make sense to shoot it with Strawburry, since she also tries new things – oftentimes Japan related – on her channel. Fun! And what better to try after Ramen than alcohol? Sure, we could have tried desserts. Actually, we should have tried desserts now that I think about it. But alcohol makes sense, too!
Also, this video is by no means a comprehensive look at Japanese Cup Ramen. There are hundreds of them. We just ate four. But we wanted to try some from different spectrums. Fun and quirky, different style of noodle, higher end, etc. Just check out the supermarkets when you’re in Japan and you’ll see how many cup ramens they have to offer. We’re actually really interested in trying the fresh ramen packets they have. You can add your own toppings and everything. Maybe we should try those next time!
I got a little distracted. Ahem. After filming, we all went out to Bakawarai, which is where we seem to take everyone that hangs out with us in Japan. They loved it! Of course, because Bakawarai is awesome. We just took Chonny there over the weekend. No video out of that, though. That was just playtime :D
If you’d like to see Martina and Meghan try out some Japanese alcohol, check out the video below!
PS I’m pretty sure it was peach, not mango!
