So, this video wasn’t something we had originally thought we were going to do. Our plan for Aizu Wakamatsu was two videos: our Special Soba video and the Samurai Training video. We were about to go on with the rest of our day and relax, but then we heard there was a station that had a cat as the station master and we knew we had to stop everything and make a video of it. Forget eating or packing anything WE MUST SEE CONDUCTOR WHISKERS.
The station is Ashinomakionsen Station, and it’s in Fukushima, and there’s a cat that’s the stationmaster. The cat’s name is Love, and we were able to sit down, give him some snuggles, and ask him some questions about what it’s like being a stationmaster and a cat at the same time. I can’t believe that I got to hold him as well. I was told that Love usually pushes away from people (I said punch, but I think they meant to say push, like when cats stiff arm you), and I snuggled and scritched him for so long. It was great I loved it and it’s special in my heart forever and ever.
There’s really nothing else to share here. Love walks around with a hat and has someone following close by. I don’t think Love makes any executive decisions or plans the schedule for the week or balances the books or anything like that. But Love is a freaking cat stationmaster and it’s awesome so we shot a short video about it. That’s all!
