Hello everybody! This is the first episode in which you really get to see Dan. Yahoo! For those of you in the dark, Dan helps us film our Eatyoursushi segments, and we’ve talked about him a bit but we haven’t really shared him on camera. Some of you have been sleuthy enough to find him, and have deduced that he’s in the picture from the Japan Times article we did a while ago, but we never really gave him screen time, until now. IT WAS HIS BIRTHDAY! He was nice enough to come with us to help out when we were in Norway, even though we told him he didn’t have to. We gave him a way out. He didn’t know, though, the amount of birthday poppers we were going to pull on him. We only recorded three. We did it probably 12 times. CUZ THAT’S HOW WE ROLL!
Norway was absolutely lovely. We were there for Desucon, an anime convention, and just had a blast. We did a couple of panels as well: one on YouTubing, and another on living in Japan and Korea, and had a great time talking with everyone. Otherwise, we also had a picnic with a bunch of people from Norway at a big park in Oslo, and it was great! We tried Loompas for the first time, which is – in my opinion – far better than hot dog buns for holding hot dog wieners. WHY HAVEN’T THESE BECOME MORE POPULAR AROUND THE WORLD?! If you don’t know what they are, they’re like a thicker tortilla, but they’re made out of potato, or so I’ve been told.
Interesting story about Norway as well: the jacket that I’m wearing in this video I got from Norway. I love it! It’s from Scotch and Soda, which is my favourite clothing company (seriously, like half of my clothing is from there), and whenever I go to Europe I find an outlet and shop there, because they’re not available in Korea and Japan yet. Anyhow, I found this jacket, and it seemed cool, but then I felt in the top left pocket and felt something lumpy. I patted around in there and then pulled out the lump: it was the dangling multicolour pompoms. POMPOMS? IN A JACKET?! SOLD! When I brought it to the cash, and I was paying for it, I asked why the hidden pompoms. If I had seen them out from the get go I wouldn’t have hesitated to buy it. They told me, though, that they keep the pompoms hidden, because men in Norway don’t like flashy clothing like that. The jacket is their worst selling item in the shop. Supposedly, in Norway, men prefer very plain looking clothing. I was shocked. I’d imagine this jacket would be their top seller, it’s so damned funky! Anyhow, I love it, and I learned something new about Norway in the process.
So that’s it for this week’s episode. Sorry we were traveling for so long and had to miss out last week’s episode. We don’t have any intercontinental travel planned for a while, so we should be good for making videos in and around Japan. Already filmed a FAPFAP for this week. Off to film some more vids today. Take care everyone!
