Poppin Cookin Donut Kit

For starters, I’d like to apologize for the misleading title. When I watched the video once it was done, I realized that this wasn’t about the Poppin Cookin Donut Kit, but about Martina’s boobs. Boobs! Yep, there they are. We thought an overhead angle would be better, because our last videos didn’t really show the process too clearly. But then we didn’t think about what Martina should be wearing for such an overhead angle and so, whelp, there it is. I’m looking forward to the comment section of YouTube, where people are, uhh, more forthright with their sentiments.

Otherwise, these kits are always fun. And I think we’re starting to get the hang of them a bit. This is more chemistry than cooking: with cooking you can always have a bit of leeway. If you need to sauté something in butter, if you’re a few ml above a bit of butter in the frying pan, you won’t ruin the dish. But with these kits: you have to fill everything up to the line precisely. No rushing. And read everything! We didn’t think that the package within the package would have any useful info, and so – voila – no donut bears!

Anyhow, if you want to play around with this on your own, you can buy it on Gmarket and make gross tasting but pretty looking donut candies!

Oh, I’m sorry. Did I talk about something else? What I meant to say is boobs.

  4. I tried one of these poppin cookin… projects? *best word I could think of* I tried the hamburger one, and unlike the sushi one that you guys did, it didn’t taste like candy. It tasted like hamburger. I even had to cook it in the microwave! Needless to say, it wasn’t good. It tasted like someone did something very offensive to that poor mini burger… But it was fun to make! Here’s a picture: http://tinyurl.com/q96t8ks

  5. Those facial expressions as you took that bite–priceless.

  6. Oh man, you guys always make me laugh! Cookie monster is a very underestimated thing to transform to when you get angry – I relate. I really want to try one of these kits one day, but I’m sure it would be a disaster, as I can’t stand to measure, and I have no patience. It would be the saddest blob ever.
    Oh, and yes boobies <3

  7. Martina, I hope your thumb heals quickly! I apologize, but I feel a small amount of kinship with you in that I too have managed to cut my finger on bread. Not on a bread knife, oh no, but on bread. It was a challah, of all things. Bread eaters, never send to know for whom the bread rolls; it rolls for thee!

  8. WHAT? Martina has BOOBS???
Seriously, I didn’t pay any attention to the camera angle. And I still don’t understand your comment when watching the video again… Omg have I gone blind?!? No, can’t be it, I can still see those cute donuts…

    • Yeah, they’re huge! She hides them most of the time with modest clothing, but sometimes a camera angle breaks through her defences.

  9. I didn’t even notice the camera angle issue until I read the blog post! I did, however, love the competition. :D The bear was admirable and probably done about as well as I would have. Somehow, when trying to make food look cute, I end up creating terrifying monsters. I think it’s a special hidden talent or something.

  10. Can you guys order stuff from Amazon over there?

If you can, you guys could make like a gazillion won selling New Orleans-style Beignets in your coffee shop. The mix comes in a box and all you need to add is water, flour – for rolling the batter out on a cutting board, oil to deep fry them in, and powdered sugar to dust them with. I add cinnamon to mine to add an extra touch. They are very easy to make and I’ve NEVER met anyone who doesn’t love them.

    • We usually order from Amazon, and then ship it to friends and family, and pick it up from them when we see them. I will look into these Beignets, though. Never heard of them before :D

    • I put the Cinnamon IN the batter.

  11. OMG! I did the same kit! It was really hard to figure out what I was supposed to do in the beginning but once I got the hang of it I was okay (it was my first and only time doing one of these kits). I thought they didn’t taste too bad – the chocolate sauce was the best part. I took some pictures of the finished products so I’ll try and tweet those to you (although I did NOT attempt to make a bear hahah – way above my level)

  12. BOOBS GLORIOUS BOOOOOOOBS! MAMMARIES BY THE CLUSTER!!!!

OK, I’ll stop parodying Lloyd Webber musicals now…

In all honesty though, it wasn’t that noticeable. I just kept laughing at the icing fails and innuendos *Cough*”Put that in the pink”*cough*

    • … This comment section isn’t really the place for this, but I’m pretty sure that Oliver! wasn’t a Lloyd Webber musical. Unless you weren’t parodying Food Glorious Food and I got this all wrong.

  13. You can relax about the awkward camera angle and/or what it may have captured. I didn’t find it distracting.

That bear, on the other hand…

  14. I did the same thing to my left thumb about a month ago. It healed up fine, but the nerves are dead, so the top of my thumb has no feeling now.

There might be some supplements (or herbs) to help with regenerating nerves. I might look into it. My left shin is completely numb from a surgery I had because of a broken leg. I don’t notice it unless I touch my shin.

Good luck with your trip next month. It starts on my birthday, July 11, and if I were near to your stops I would come see you. Just yell out something nasty out the window as you drive through Medford, Oregon.

  15. I too turn into the Cookie Monster when frustrated.
Also, Martina’s hair is just lovely in this video!!

  16. Wait did you cut your thumb on the bread itself, or while cutting up some bread? Cuz my coworker recently sliced right through her finger while cutting a roll (she was holding the roll and cutting into it and the knife slipped – don’t ever hold a roll while you’re cutting it!!!) But cutting off your fingertip with just bread, that would actually be impressive haha.

  17. Uhhhhhhhh….. Do you know what a bussy is?

    It’s slang for “boy pussy”.

  18. Oh my Martina! Well at least I know how sharp bread can be.
Those crusts are like pointy arrows. (gets several scratches from it every week by working at a bakery)
But I know some one who cut her finger by cleaning a spoon!
AND at least you know where you cut your finger. Once I just wanted to write something down after a delivery noticing my thumb was bleeding… whoops!

  19. I couldn’t find it on Gmarket for you, but I think you should make the butt pudding kit. The Shin Chan butt kit. We need this in our lives.
