Yay! We can finally share this video with you! We’ve been planning it for a while now, and it’s finally out. Woohoo!
So, a few weeks ago we reached out to Yuka because we wanted to film something together. She’s awesome, if you don’t know by now. She can eat 4kg of food in one sitting and not gain any weight from it. She literally did a video in which she ate 100 pieces of bread. AND NONE OF THE WEIGHT STAYS ON HER. Sorry if we’re too impressed by this. We’re getting older now, and our bodies are a lot more prone to gaining weight than before. And a big part of our career is to eat amazing food. So, Yuka is kind of our hero. Our spirit animal, so to speak. We’re not sure how she does it, but she eats amazingly. We wanted to film something together, even though we don’t have any common language between us, but we were able to make a couple of videos that we think are kinda fun. I hope you like them!
It’s a shame we couldn’t enjoy more of the pudding. It seems like we ate even less than we normally would, and that’s because we filmed this video right after we filmed the Ddeokbokki video with Yuka. We were stuffed! We could have a couple bites of pudding, but we couldn’t do many more. Yuka was able to come in and finish, like, 1.8kg of pudding, and that’s not counting how many pounds of toppings she put on top of that. And this is after eating 2KG of ddeokbokki! AFTER! I remember asking her if she’d need a break between shoots, and she said that 2KG is nothing. So…so jealous.
One funny thing that we’ll mention here but we’ll never show you the video of: when Yuka was eating the pudding by herself, Martina was on one side of the screen and I was on the other. Martina was right beside our leather chair, which was pressed up against the window. Well, right after Yuka took her first bite and then said it was delicious, Martina nudged the chair, and it squeaked really loud. Looking at the footage though, it looks just like Yuka had some pudding, said it was delicious, and then let rip the loudest fart. Ha! That’s not what happened, of course, but that’s what it looked like on video. It’s a special memory we’ll keep with us. And kudos to Yuka for not flinching at the loud sound. Truly professional :D
And now you know why we went to Koreatown from our last Eat Your Sushi episode. We had to buy enough Ddeok for this video. And whoa was it a lot. And cooking this much ddeok?! Insane! It’s the most we ever had to cook.
Anyhow, if you want to see us go up against Yuka in a Ddeokbokki eating challenge, check out the video on her channel. How much can Martina eat in one sitting? And, more importantly, what happens to her face after eating so much spicy food? Her voice changes a bit, too, I’d say.
